One room, done properly — Brisbane

Single room & bedroom painting

One room painted properly — walls, trims and ceiling if it needs it — without being told you have to do the whole house to get a painter through the door.

A freshly repainted bedroom with a deep navy feature wall and timber floorboards

A single room is the job most painting companies quietly decline. It is not worth mobilising a crew for, so the quote comes back high enough that you give up, or it never comes back at all.

It is exactly the work TFS is set up for. A bedroom, a nursery before a baby arrives, a home office that has become a real office, or a living room that has taken fifteen years of family traffic — one room, one painter, done and finished.

What a single room usually includes

  • Walls prepared, filled where needed and painted
  • Ceiling, where it needs doing at the same time
  • Skirting boards, architraves and door frames
  • The room door, both sides where required
  • Window frames and sills
  • Furniture and floors protected, and the room left tidy

What happens on the day

  1. Set up and protect

Furniture moved to the centre or out, floors covered, fittings removed or masked. This is the part that separates a tidy job from a stressful one.

  2. Prepare the surfaces

Fill, sand, and clean. On older Brisbane homes this is usually the longest part of the job, and it is the part that determines how the finish looks in two years.

  3. Cut in and coat

Edges cut in by hand, walls rolled, and the number of coats the colour actually needs rather than the number quoted.

  4. Clean up

Fittings back on, masking off, floors cleared, and a walk-through before Tony leaves.

Common questions

Common questions

Do I have to empty the room first?
No. Tony will move what can be moved and protect the rest. Clearing small items and anything fragile in advance speeds the job up and keeps the cost down.
How long does one room take?
A straightforward bedroom is usually a day. Rooms with significant repairs, a strong colour change, or high ceilings can run into a second day — you will know which before the work starts.
Can you paint just the walls and leave the trims?
Yes. Plenty of rooms only need the walls done. Tony will point out if leaving the trims will look odd against a fresh wall colour, then it is your call.
