Ceiling patching & stain touch-ups, Brisbane

Ceiling repairs & repainting

Cracked, stained or damaged ceiling sections repaired and repainted — including the water-stain touch-ups that get left behind long after the leak itself is sorted.

A freshly repainted room interior with clean ceiling and cornice lines

Ceilings are unforgiving. They catch every bit of side light from a window, which means a patch that would disappear on a wall can sit there like a signature. They are also the first place a past water problem shows up, and a stain that has been painted over without sealing will bleed back through within weeks.

Tony repairs and repaints ceiling sections as a contained job — a single room, a hallway, or just the damaged area — rather than treating it as a whole-house project.

What gets covered

  • Cracked and damaged ceiling sheets
  • Cornice cracks and separation at the wall junction
  • Water stains, once the source has been dealt with
  • Patch repairs from downlight or fan changes
  • Full single-room ceiling repaints
  • Flaking or peeling ceiling paint in bathrooms and kitchens

How ceiling work is approached

  1. Check the cause first

A stain means water got in. Tony will not paint over an active problem — that is a call for the relevant trade first, then paint once it is dry and fixed.

  2. Seal before painting

Water stains need a stain-blocking sealer. Straight topcoat over a stain will let it bleed back through, often within a fortnight.

  3. Repair and flatten

Cracks are opened up rather than skimmed over, so the repair has something to hold onto and does not reopen.

  4. Paint the full plane

Ceilings are almost always painted corner to corner rather than spot-touched. Side light makes partial ceiling repaints very hard to hide.

Common questions

Common questions

There is a water stain on my ceiling. Can you just paint it out?
Only once the cause is fixed and the area is dry. Painting over an active leak wastes your money — the stain comes back. Once it is sorted, the area is sealed with a stain blocker and repainted.
Can you paint just the damaged part of the ceiling?
It is possible, but ceilings show partial repaints badly because of the way light rakes across them. In most rooms, painting the whole ceiling gives a far better result for a modest difference in cost.
Do you do ceiling repairs on their own, without painting?
The repair and the paint go together — that is the point of the service. Tony does not take on plastering as a standalone trade.
